From scented candles to diffusers and room sprays: Fragrance is the invisible way to bring beauty and elegance into your home.
I still remember the beautifully scented homes of a couple of my childhood friends. One in particular, whose farmhouse possessed the wonderful smell of heritage woodwork mixed with fresh air and great cooking – plus, no doubt, the wonderful fragrances worn by the residents too! That home is etched in my brain – a place and memory synonymous with grace, generosity and style.
To this day, it’s the ultimate compliment when someone walks into my home and says, “It smells so good in here.” It’s part of why I love to burn scented candles, enjoy diffusers, and really care about the hand wash that sits at the sinks in both my bathroom and kitchen.
The last few years have seen an explosion of home scents on the market, whether candles or diffusing reeds or room sprays so there’s fragrance to suit all of our tastes. As we head into the summer months where we might not always be wanting to burn a candle, but still desire gorgeous fragrances for our spaces, I wanted to round up a few fantastic home scents that I hope will inspire, soothe and uplift you. And maybe spark a cherished memory too!
