Spiced Crantini Cocktail

Spiced Crantini Cocktail made with leftover cranberry sauce

I make a mean cranberry sauce. It’s sweet, tart and fragrant as I’ve customized the recipe with orange juice, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg. So delicious, that it got me to thinking in the days after Christmas, that I should be using it in a cocktail. Therein lies the origin of this holiday sipper.

Double the recipe when you make my Spiced Cranberry Sauce Relish for holiday dinner and you’ll be guaranteed a solid supply of  divine cranberry syrup for cocktail making during the cold winter months to follow.

Ingredients

1-1/2 oz vodka
1 oz fresh orange juice
2 tbsp Spiced Cranberry Sauce Relish
Soda water
Cinnamon sugar, sugared cranberries and/or rosemary sprig for garnish

Method

Wet the rim of your cocktail glass with cranberry syrup and then dip in cinnamon sugar.

Fill a cocktail shaker half full with ice. Add all ingredients except soda water, and shake until icy cold.

Pour into chilled cocktail glass, top with soda, and garnish with sugared cranberries or rosemary sprig.

Serves one.
